Our Campus
Our campus is more than a school building. It's a welcoming, creative space where students learn through exploration, collaboration, hands-on projects, and meaningful connections with nature, animals, and one another.
A Place to Learn & Grow
Nestled in the Smoke Rise Mountain Park community of Gwinnett County, near Tucker and Decatur, Lighthouse Prep offers a welcoming environment that feels more like a creative studio than a traditional school.
Our campus brings together flexible learning spaces, hands-on materials, outdoor exploration, and animals to create a unique setting where students can discover, design, build, collaborate, and thrive.
Flexible Learning Spaces
Our bright, flexible learning spaces are designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and hands-on discovery. From cozy reading nooks and small-group learning areas to opportunities for art, science experiments, engineering, robotics, coding, and 3D printing, students have the tools and freedom to explore their interests, develop new skills, and bring their ideas to life.
Outdoor Recreation & Exploration
Our outdoor areas provide plenty of opportunities for recreation, exploration, and relaxation. Students can play basketball, jump on the trampoline, explore our walking trail, observe local wildlife, or simply enjoy time outdoors with friends. Whether engaging in physical activity, investigating nature, or taking a break from academics, students have the freedom to move, recharge, and connect with their surroundings.
Our Campus Animals
Our campus is home to dogs, chickens, and goats, with more animals to come! Students take an active role in animal care, habitat design and construction, and maintaining healthy environments for our animals. Our neighborhood geese, native pollinators, and other local wildlife also provide opportunities to study animal behavior, biodiversity, and ecosystems firsthand. These experiences bring science, engineering, environmental stewardship, and practical life skills together through meaningful, hands-on learning.
A Safe, Welcoming Environment
We prioritize a safe, healthy, and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and valued. Our small school community allows us to know each student personally, maintain consistent supervision, and respond thoughtfully to individual needs.
Our health and safety practices include:
- Adult supervision throughout campus
- Clear student routines, expectations, and safety guidelines
- Open and transparent communication with families
- Security cameras in designated areas
- Regular fire drills and emergency preparedness procedures
- Clean, well-maintained learning spaces
- Hygiene and illness prevention practices
