Some mornings at Lighthouse Prep start slow, warm, and gentle—like the feeling of biscuits fresh out the oven, steam rising, butter melting into all the little cracks. Kids trickle in with their backpacks and big ideas, someone’s sharing a new drawing, someone else is showing us a cool rock they found in the parking lot. We smile, we settle in, and the day begins with curiosity already buzzing in the air.
That’s what Spark & Signal is meant to feel like.
A place where learning is comforting and alive at the same time. A place where stories rise up naturally—about what our students are making, what they’re wondering, what they’re discovering in the forest behind the school or in a book they just finished. A place where we can share the heart of this little microschool with the people who love us, follow us, or are dreaming about building something similar.
Here, you’ll find the real moments:
- the messy Genius Studio tables covered in cardboard and paint,
- the quiet victories in reading or writing,
- the laughter on field trips,
- the homeschoolers who walk in twice a week like they’re coming home,
- the teens figuring out who they are,
- and the grownups who get to witness all of it.
This blog isn’t just updates.
It’s a porch light.
A warm welcome.
An invitation to sit with us a little while and see what learning looks like when kids are trusted, encouraged, and allowed to shine.
So pull up a chair and stay awhile.
There’s so much we can’t wait to share with you.
Welcome to Spark & Signal—where curiosity rises, creativity gathers, and community keeps the whole thing warm.
